Before this project was assigned, I was totally against Prezi. I didn't understand what was so fantastic about the program. I mean, you're just creating a PowerPoint online...why does your information have to move around/ zoom in and out/ be confined to circular and rectangular shapes? I just didn't see the appeal. However, I will admit that the program is actually a lot more fun to use than I originally thought. Even though it took me a while to figure out how to use the program, I finally got the hang of it and actually enjoyed putting my presentation together.
At first, I was just going to use the same information that I had on my PowerPoint to save myself some time. But then I thought, "Hey. Dr. Olah already knows that stuff about me...why not give him some new material?" I think one of my favorite things about Prezi is the ability to zoom in and out of different aspects of the presentation. I think it helps to keep the viewer intrigued and they are more engaged in the information that is being presented. I decided to show my Prezi to my 8th grade students in practicum one day, and they absolutely loved it. They thought that it was a neat way to show information and they even asked me if they could create one.
Once again, the technology has won me over. I am now a firm believer in the wonder that is Prezi.
